1. System Overview¶
The ReVx Energy High-Voltage BMS family includes several modules that operate together as acomplete system. Available modules are listed below.
| SL No | Model | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | VinciX-HV-MASTER-2.2 | High-Voltage Master Board |
| 2 | VinciX-18S-SLAVE 1.0 | Cell Voltage and Temperature sense, supports up to 18 Cells, and 9 thermistors. |
Generally, a single High-Voltage BMS system uses one Master Board, PDU (including all the contactors, hall sensor etc), and One or more LMU modules. Generalized system architecture is as shown in Figure 1. “ReVx Energy High-Voltage BMS System Overview”
1.1. High-Voltage Master Board¶
The High-Voltage Master Board has the central MCU which handles all the processes and decision making required by ReVx Energy High-Voltage BMS. It monitors and controls all LMU modules, PDU in a single battery stack.
The external interfaces to this module are:
-
Isolated CAN 2.0 port
-
RS-485 (Modbus-RTU) connector Available on Request
-
4 opto-isolated digital outputs
-
4 digital inputs
-
Link Bus connectors
-
USB connector
-
2 High Voltage Sense Connectors that senses 4 different bus voltages
-
1 Currents Sense Connectors – Supports Closed Loop Hall Sensor with Bipolar Suplies
-
On Board SD Card Holder – to store the data
-
1 Connector to drive the Power Contactors
-
2 Connectors for Board and Contactor Power Supplies.
-
2 Connectors for HVIL IN and HVIL Out
1.2. VinciX LMU Modules¶
The ReVx Energy Cell Interface LMU Boards acts like a nervous system of the Battery Management System. It facilitates battery monitoring and balancing functionalities.
In a High-Voltage BMS, one or more LMU Modules are used to sense cell voltage and temperature measurements and transmit to the HV Master Board over ISO-SPI communication.
ReVx Energy has 18S LMU Module at present:
- VinciX-18S-LMU - 18 channel can monitor up to 18 series-connected cells and 9 thermistor sense.
